Modern education has many forms. Some include going to public or private school, being homeschooled, or even taking a class online. There are many more options for modern eduction than there were for Roman education, due to the fact that there are so many more resources and so much more technology available. Today, all people are educated. There is no discrimination against girls or different races. We are all equal.
The average person can begin their education at the earliest of three years old and end it by a least the time they are twenty-two. They start in preschool/elementary and then move up to middle school or junior high. From there they move on to high school and then on to college. Then they can either choose get their degree in something or they can move right on to looking for a job. Modern education is like Roman education because it has many levels before you get to the end. Also, modern education is important because you need it if you want to get a good job and excell in life.
Modern education has the same areas of learning as Roman education, except that it goes more in depth with all of them. It is not just the basic stuff you need for life. In modern education, you learn how to solve complex math problems, write themes for and discuss literature, and memorize dates in history. Also, science is a necessary thing to learn. It is not an option in modern education.
In my opinion, I prefer the Roman's system of education. I think that learning just the basic things needed in life is a smart way to go about things. Learning everything so in depth in modern education doesn't help you in the long run because you are going to eventually end up speciallizing in one thing anyway, so there is really no point in learning every detail in all subjects.
