Roman Invasion
Julius Caeser
Britannia was first invaded by Julius Caeser in 55 B.C. The reason he invaded was to gain more land and power for the Roman Empire. However, he abandoned the fight several times because he did not believe Britannia was worth a long war.
A hundred years later, under the rule of Emperor Cladius, in A.D. 43, the Romans returned to gain the territory they did not earn before. Aulus Plautius led the Roman army to victory. After numerous battles and long months, he had gained the southern half of the land. He had gained Britannia.
